Default 1.7 rocker arms

What all do I have to do in order to run 1.7 rocker arms? Will they fit with the stock valve covers that have been modified? Also which ones are you all running what would be the cheaper route on doing these?

Assuming that you have a stock valvetrain, I would rather spend some money on the springs than 1.7s. Stock LT1 springs are not the best pieces. Order some nice springs then some nsa 1.6s.

Scorpion 1.7's are nice. You will need, at a minimum, a nice set of springs, like Comp 918's or PAC 1218's. I would also suggest getting ARP 7/16" rocker arm studs and Trickflow guideplates, and Trickflow chromemoly pushrods.

I'm going to be running Angus Racing 1.7RR's. But, I only got them because I got a really good price and they have less than 1000 miles on them. For the springs, I just bought the Patriot Gold kit. Still waiting to get everything put in though.

I have upgraded springs already along with chromemoly pushrods and cc503 cam with 1.6s. Just thought about doing the 1.7s to get a little more out of the cam and wanted to know what all i need! Also has anyone ran them with the stock valve covers or aftermarket ones needed? My heads are setup for the 3/8 studs do i need to change to the 7/16 stud?

You might have issues with valve control at high rpm running the 1.7's w/ cc503. although most stock cam lt1's dont seem to have any trouble running them.

You need to find out if your springs can handle the new higer lift. If so, then I think you should be fine.
