Replace the gasket on the collector.

And if the collector is leaking, why would you worry about capping the EGR?

the egr gasket and the collector gasket are completely two diff gaskets?
anyway you can get one prolly at autozone.
and he reason it fuc*ed up, it had to be tight'd down wrong. like one side was done til tight while the other was loose, then it was tight'd. do them evenly

Is your view of me improving any yet, RamAir?

Dante, the collector is under the car (assuming you have Long Tubes) and is where the headers mate up to the Y Pipe. Where the emissions tap into the header is on the top and generally just tapped into a single pipe of the headers for LT1s.

Make sure to tighten the header bolts from the inside out, that way you cause the gasket to make a good seal. And like stated above, progressively tighten down the bolts, don't cream them all at once. The reason why it blew out was probably also due to the crap paper gaskets that come with Pacesetters.

Btw, I'm thinking you mean the gasket for the header to head connection, Pacesetters don't use gaskets for the collectors as they are slip-fits. You can get these at any parts store. I chose Fel-Pro 1406's and like the fact that you can hang them on the outer bolt holes and not have to fight lining them up.

I really don't think that deleting the EGR will cause it to ping. You will need to get it tuned out of the PCM as it will throw a code. And you will also need the blockoff plates as well. For the AIR connections, you will need plugs for the fittings in the headers and get rid of the AIR pump, lines, etc.

yeah i know where it all is...but what im saying is where can i find just that small gasket at? also there is something on ebay that i can buy for 15 dollars to cap off that collector and the egr stuff aswell so i dont have to worry about emission, but like i said my mechanic told me id hear a pinging so somehing? is this true???

you have the egr tube confused with the collector, which is where the 4 header primaries merge

I capped mine off with an ebay egr block off plate, works great for me no "pinging"

I don't know where you could get a gasket. The stock manifold doesn't use a gasket so it may be hard to find one. I'd try tightening the bolt down more and if it still leaks, get rid of the EGR stuff. I should not ping, don't know exactly what you mean by ping. The kit off of eBay will work. It comes with plates to block off the fitting on the header and the fittings on the back of the intake.
