Well this may sound strange, but i dont care about the height of the shifter, i just want a more precise shift. So does anybody have a hurst or pro 5.0?

I've had the hurst competition shifter (the one that comes in like the SS camaros and what not) and a pro 5.0. I liked the hurst better. It felt good and solid and very very rarely missed 3rd.

The SLP is alright, but I think it could be better. I've got one in my car right now, with a WS6Store short stick. But, I doubt I'd ever buy one again. The only reason I got it, is because a guy on camaroZ28.com had it for sale for $40shipped. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Hurst or Pro5.0, like the OP.

So the hurst is as good if not better than the pro 5.0? If thats true i will get one here in town and not have to order one. I actually bought one the other day but when i got home i realized it was for a t5 not a t56. It was in the wrong box!! Oh well i guess ill just go get the right one.

Can't speak about the Hurst because I've never used it. I had a B&M and didnt care for it much. Switched to a Pro 5.0 and its much better IMO.

Eh, I've missed one upshift in the 5 1/2 years I've owned the car, I love it.
Hell even if you switch, for $40 you had a much better over stock shifter for the time being.

I had a stock shifter, stock stick, and a B&M t-handle on my 86 Camaro and never had any issues, the stock shifter in the 4th gens just blow for some reason.

I went from 2nd to 1st once, i was doing like 55mph and went for third and holy crap, it locked up the rear for about a half a second and i was backwards. My girlfriend was freaked haha, she grew up around stock cars her whole life but it still was a little much for her. So i take it easy on 2nd to 3rd for now.
