About to get a 95 lt1
Im getting a 95 lt1 in two weeks. Ive got some **** talking ls1 owners i need to own. So what mods best open these motors up. I was thinking of hooker LT, 100 shot of nitrous, and mabee a stall latter on. Is the order of stuff you would put on. Or what would yall suggest ive only got a little over a grand to spend right now but got to put some 13.5 cars down...
let it breath....cold air intake, headers and a cutout will get your low 13's. I ran 13.2 with shorties, cutout and CAI. you should easily be able to crack some LS1 A$$ for under a grand
Theres plenty of stuff on making your own cold air, thats what I would do. I have a MTI CAI in my car. If its an auto
Hooker LTs
Vig 32-3600 Stall
Cut Out
Gas
Drag Radials
That car will run!

i have an lpe cai ligenfelter performance engineering. you can find it at www.ligenfelter.com it was the cheapest cai i could find new and was looking good. it comes with a huge *** K&N filter that is 4" and goes all the way down to the fenderwell guard with the slits in it. its an awesome filter supposedly bigger than K&N's itself. but it is a K&N you get with it. it is 159.95 i think i paid about 168 for it toatl shipped. K&N's is about 200+ shipping. moroso is like 190+ shipping and slp cai is like 220 or so. you can find them cheaper though if you look around. i plan to get some headers a cutout, and a high flow cat soon also added onto my magnaflow catback. i love the catback its an exceptional value for what you get. all stainless steel with polished muffler and 3.5" tips all 3" stainless piping. awesome sound i love it.
cutout is pipe that is welded in between your y-pipe and catalytic converter. Look at it like this:
Engine
|
Headers
|
Y Pipe
| \
Cat Cutout
|
Intermediate Pipe
|
Muffler
|
Tips
A cutout is pipe that can be opened and closed before the catalytic converter, allowing you to run straight headers or right through the muffler whenever you please! A seal can be bolted on by hand, or you can order one that opens electronically via switch. The normal cutout will run you 30-50 dollars, while an electronic cutout will run around 100-140.

Its hard not to go with Vig, awesome customer service and they stand behind their converter, I have never heard any complaints about them. I bought a used Vigi 3200 off the boards and its by far the best mod I have ever done. The best thing you can do is if you buy the converter used, find out how old it is and get tag number. You can call Vigi and they can tell you if you still have a free retsall left. I would deff, go with a Vig converter again. 3200 is a perfect stall speed for gas.
Thanks, thats what i figured it was, just not sure. My friend found this set of edlebrock headers, with a Y pipe. Would that just run to the cat, or would it skip the cat altogether? My friend has a cutout on his LS1, and i've heard it at WOT, and i'm fairly sure that my corsa w/ cat sounds louder than his LS1 with the coutout all the open.
do not get the edlebrock headers, they are worthless pieces of junk. Mine warped within 2 weeks...the welds arent that good, plus the collectors are tapered and too small. I highly suggest a different header.
