The last column was speed density with no elbow, MAF or CAI. It was running straight into the 58mm TB.

if you are willing, could you try running sd with the elbow but no maf? just curious how great a restriction each element causes. it appears the cai is the greatest but i wonder how much the maf is slowing things down.

Done.
Results below

Final thoughts.
Looks like the 90 degree elbow is a good size restriction and the MAF is NOT of any concern. The 58mm flows a little better for my motor compared to the 52mm TB.

Who wants to chime in?

thats cool, i appreciate it. had a feeling the elbow was a big issue. now if somebody with a lid conversion would do the same thing that would be awesome.

im assuming atm pressure is roughly the same for all runs but its interesting on the chart 58mm no cai has less pressure drop than the same setup but in sd. probably nothing you would actually notice but interesting nonetheless.

When I was getting tuned last time. I saw a gain of 4RWHP and 1RWTQ by pulling the elbow, MAF and CAI and making the SD rune with air running straight into the 52mmTB. From my findings above, I would expect those gains to be slightly higher with the new 58mm TB. FWIW, heatsoak might have played a role in these numbers. We made this pull just minutes after another pull which of course is a no no on the aluminum intake LT1 from what I have been told. The tuner and i were expecting a bit more.

I am going to try to make it back to the dyno sometime this summer.

Update.
Installed the K&N FIPK and it is about 1KPA better with less pressure loss than my AS&M CAI.

All in all I improved my MAP by 2 KPA by switching to a 58mmTB and the K&N FIPK according to my data logs.

58mm TB/K&N FIPK (right)

My Datamaster has always displayed 100 to 101 at WOT while I was using my cut out stock airbox and a K&N. This was with all the mods in my sig and before my last two mods also which were the AS&M TB and the AS&M Intake. After those mods it still reads the same. I am in Detroit. Not sure about my altitude but that makes a difference I believe.

Nice reseach. Wonder if you would gain some back with the silencer(air tube) attached to the elbow?

Exhaust restrictions can also cause you to believe their is an intake restriction. From the looks of your sig your exhaust seems to flow pretty well though.
