Installed HIDs, check it out.
There's no point with that Kit. You're not gaining any light with the lo/hi kit. Unless you buy some rigged together dual HID bulb or HID bulb fog light combo, which are just downright a waste of cash. If you have state inspection, swap stock bulbs back in. Otherwise if you need more light add some fog lights, or look up SStreetlights.
I can't stand all these people w/ the plug and play kits w/ the horrible glare.
Especially when they got out getting the highest Kelvin rating they can find.
But hey the Blue light look of HIDS is cool. Gotta have 12k, then the reduced lumen output compared 6K and lower bulbs!!! Some fail to realize the blue light is a side effect of the cutoff shield.
I'll be the first to admit I have PnP Hids in two of my cars. One is in the 92 legacy I own. The glare is there, but you can still make out the wimpy H4 cutoffs because of the shield that commonly comes with only the h4 lo/hi kits. I got spoiled driving with my RMS, and now that I got bumped to second shift, I prefer to see on the way home rather than sporting hibeams and still not being able to see.
The other kit is in my Hella 90mm H9 projectors. I did it mainly for longevity since h9 halogens aren't known for long life. Since the projector was designed for use with 2500 lumen bulbs glare is almost none. The cutoff is not as sharp due to HID bulb vs H9, but they work.
But it def much better output then stock with the hid kit ...
And the car just look alot more badass now which i like best.
Differnt application than yours. For hi/lo I needed a bulb that moves. Has a 3 year warranty too.
As Buffman tried to explain, the glare is terrible with these 9004 housings.
I went with 4300K like that color for actual function, not looking to look cool.
