Yeah you're right. What a bench racer I am. I've only been around the track since '87 and am on my 6th Z28. What do I know, lol......clown.
I could honestly care less about you whipping out your credentials.
Doesn't matter. Only clown shoed "Honda boys" make ET predictions before actually going to the track. You being the seasoned veteran and all should know this. I didn't say you were a bench racer. I said you were a clown for claiming ET's before they were ran.

I don't know if anyone read my post on page 1, but it has some info you're looking for.

I for one, will never buy an engine without being able to inspect it before delivery - i.e., a local shop.

I could see your point if I had never been to the track with the car at all. I have been there several times , and I have since driven the car on the street with a few of the changes being made, so I know it's a teensy bit better....I hope. I'll have to leave my "clown shoes" at home though, I doubt i'll have good pedal feel at the tree, lol.

Exactly. I enjoyed very much talking to my builder for 30min once I picked it up so he could field my questions and/or concerns.

You being a drag racing warrior I'm sure you'll have absolutely no problem reaching your goals the next time out. The clownshoes don't come off until you can prove what you claim. You decided to jump into them and the makeup therefore they are there until you can meet your claims.

my heads/cam package is better than your's! :p

to the original q, I've heard people preach about golen for years so they either had A) a quality product at atleast one point, or B) have great PR people

don't know of anyone personally with experience, I like using local builders personally

You're doing it wrong. First you have to blurt out a theoretical ET yet sell it as if your **** has actually achieved claimed ET. If you are questioned you then have to turn to your defense mechanism, try to divert attention away from your fictitious claim and sell yourself as a wrench turning gladiator that has been around since the beginning of time. THEN you can claim the heads/cam thing.

Meh, that's cool. I've been called far worse by smarter people. I should apologize if I hurt your feelings for asking for more clarification to your ET claims. I didn't realize it was such a sensitive issue for you to have to defend your "Honda boy" mentality. As far as the hypocrisy is concerned there is no need to remind you why you started in on this thread. As far as AI is concerned, why do they need to be brought up in this thread? My postings to you only pertain to your clown shoe claim.

I had my 383 shortblock built by golen. I bought the competition shortblock, using stock pan too. It has just under 8k mi now, with no problems. Also running a fluidamper balancer. It has been a great motor knock on wood...

Had a local guy go run his 383 golen LT1 at the track last thursday. The balancer flew off on the 2nd pass. Apparently the eagle cranks Golen uses dont work too well with the stock balancer if its not keyed. The car otherwise ran okay, if you dont mind be slower than other local stock shortblock LT1's on less nitrous, LOL.

Then again this wasnt my car, so please feel free to flame.

Quick Reply: Anyone have any feedback on Golen LT1 shortblocks?
