I run the older version of that cam on a stock bottom end. The older version is on a 114, vs the 113 of the version out now. I shift at 6600rpm. I have mildly touched up TFS heads which dropped my compression down to just over 9-1. I wouldn't recommend this cam for a stock bottom end. Mine had new bearings installed and a new oil pump. I wouldn't trust revving an untouched motor up that high all the time. I wouldn't recommend it for stock heads either. The cam would work best on a 383 with at least 10.5-1 compression and some good heads.

I had it laying around so we decided to put it to use, but don't follow my example, lol.

It's pretty much already been covered, but yes I did run the XFI cam on a stock bottom end.

Yes we did run it up to 7,000rpm on the dyno and the graph was still climbing higher.

Yes I did switch to the AI 226/234 and I am quite happy with it.

I made 385rwhp on a Dynojet chassis dyno with the 292 XFI cam. 433 was the torque number but it had to have been a spike from the converter being that high.

I only ever had Fuzion ZRi street tires to run on with that cam so it had crappy ETs in the 12.20s @ 112-114mph with high 1.7 60' times.

Here's a vid of the car with that cam.

I did later get some drag radials, but never got to run the 1/4. Just the 1/8 at Mooresville Dragway

tylert14 on here got that cam from me when I was done with it. He ran it in a stock headed 383 and it seemed to run pretty good in it, but I don't remember his mph at the track or what RPM he was spinning it too. I'm pretty sure he still spun it to 6800 or 7k in the 383 and that is with stock heads. He never had it on a dyno, just a mail order tune so it may have wanted to be spun higher yet. We'll never know though as he has since moved on to a different setup all together.

I watched those 1/8th mile vids you had on there. Your car would have run some 11's had you taken it to the track with those good tires. I ran 7.44-7.50 when I was running my 11.7's with that cam.

My thoughts on the OPs question, and take it for what it's worth. To much cam, end of story.

IMO the cam is simply ground too wide. Smaller duration cams on a 108-110 perform just as good or better, at least that is what i've seen.

I shifted at 7000 RPM according to the stock tach. I only got to the dragstrip once and ran a 12.6 at 113 on street tires with a 2.2? 60 ft don't quote me on the 60' I don't have the slip handy but it was bad lol.

It definitely made power all the way to 7000! I bet it would have made power higher but 7000 was already pushing it with that setup. It did have good street manner and I loved the setup!

With at least 383ci and maybe some decent heads I think the cam would be a good candidate.
