Default 236/246 .600+ lift cam

i got spec'd out a custom blower cam from bullet and the specs are 236/246 and .615/.615 (maybe? it was .6 something), anyways heres the setup:

355 lt1
unknown ported stock heads
heads have 2.02 / 1.6 valves that are +.100 length
unknown ported stock intake
58mm tb
hooker long tubes, dual 3" exh
D1sc 3.25" pulley
9.5:1 or 9:1 c/r cant recall its written down at work

car is a 6spd, 4.30 gears, probably gonna run a 28" tall M&H tire on a 17" wheel.

gonna run meth injection
also going big FMIC

any ideas on this cam? too big? just right? looking to put down 600rwhp.

This is just what I've seen for results on people's boosted LT1s. A fully stock LT1 with a tune and LTs running I think 8psi was making 425hp. So I think with your motor being actually setup for boost, you should be able to achieve 425 right off the bat. Factor in your port work and injectors (that I assume you'll get) would I think easily push yours into the 475 range, still stock cam. Seeing as I literally have no info on the cam (other than provided) or the specifics on that blower, I guessed and actually came up with 616hp... (Yea yea, DesktopDyno.... but SpeedInc said one of their guys used ot play around with it and said it's oddly quite close to real world results).

The intercooler may be way off (among other bits) but I put it where it's at due to running Meth as well.

With mystery heads nobody can give you any meaningful information.

I will say from my observations 2.02/1.6 valves is usually NOT a good sign about the port work quality. Often indicates a blind "bigger is better" mentality. Is a lot of extra work and expense to fit valves that size in the heads and given that 2.00/1.56 valves in stock heads have gone 9s NA making over 500rwhp NA the question should be asked how much could a bigger valve yet really be worth???

The heads might be great, they might be junk, they probably fall somewhere in between, but we have no idea where.

If you manage to meet your power goal and can drive decent you are then going to run out of gear on the dragstrip. 7000rpms is about 135mph in 4th and 600rwhp should MPH higher than that.

about the valves... i am having them installed, it currently has 2.0 / 1.59 valves in it but in ordered to run a cam bigger that has more valve lift than .550 i have to either cut the valve guide or install the longer valves. im installing longer valves, they just happen to be 2.02/1.6.

as far as the porting on the heads / intake, the intake is gasket matched, as is the head, i really wish i knew more about them. sucks.

doesnt matter i guess i mean honestly, the car should have some ***** anyways

You need new seats in the head for valves that size. Then the bowl work will need redoing.

"gasket matched" without additional real porting is a bad thing, once the head and intake are bolted together and you think of the ports as one long one a gasket match makes for a fat spot in the middle of the port, slows airflow and then speeds it back up past the pushrod pinch. Lots of wasted energy slowing and speeding the air up.

Guys go over .550 lift all the time on untouched heads, though by .600+ I suspect you actually do need room for more spring.

You are blindly throwing darts around here and that wont get you 600rwhp.

Cap's hit the nail on the head here INL. I was going to mention the fact that the bigger valves won't really help compared to what can be done for much cheaper. But you already have them, so if you have 1.59 why would you go .01 bigger lol Unless your seats are totally shot and require tons of work, I'd look into getting new heads as I'd think there is more wrong with heads then may seem. Just my observation at least.
