Default New Opti-Wont Start

I just put in a new optispark today and now the car wont start. It will turn over and start to fire, but it never actually starts and runs. Where do I even start trouble shooting!?

Well i never had the problem of it not starting... my poroblem before was an extremely bad miss at WOT. Fuel pressure is fine. I never took the coil off so i dont think that would be messed up. I dont think its the ICM cause if it went out wouldnt it not be firing at all? And i replaced the opti with a Jegs brand opti. its brand new but i know they have been known to come broken.

You are correct about the ICM. Check your plug wires too and make sure they are not damaged or worn out. Maybe pull a couple sprak plugs and diagnose them as well

check all connections(retrace to see plug positions are correct), are you sure the dowel ping is seated in the right position?
it is possible to miss the slot and put it above or below

I am sure the odds of a bad opti are slim but dont rule it out,I had a brand new gm opti come doa

What year is your car? It's fairly easy to get the opti indexed incorrectly on 93's & 94's. I guess it's also possible on the 95+ cars.

Check and make sure you have all the wires going to the right plugs. It happens quite frequently
