Default Dynaspark Opti Install Tips?

Ok guys, I have a dynaspark opti coming with the car that I'm going to be installing.

Any tips such as loctite the rotor screws etc, or is that not needed with the dynaspark?

Is this a good unit for those of you who are using it?

In my research looks like it's a really good unit just expensive so people usually stick to the stock one.

I guess it converts my 94 to a vented style as well.

Hope it holds up good, we shall see!

The Dynaspark is an excellent piece, but as you said, also expensive. I've had mine for almost 6 years now and not had a spark related failure or miss so far. I'm converting to FAST XFI and will be spinning my engine to ~7500, so we'll see how it holds up.

Thanks for the reply.

Anything special to watch out for during installation, or just stick it on as-delivered?

I installed it as delivered. Just get new gaskets for your WP - everything about the install is pretty easy.

you probably should just for the hell of it open it up and locktite the two rotor screws. 5-10 minutes of work could prevent any headaches down the road. my .02

I would not open it up, Dynasparks come sealed from the factory and I believe they already loctite the screws, Have been using mine for years on a LT1 Supercharged motor that spooled up very quickly..........No Problems..

That's what I was thinking, it can't hurt. And you might as well post pics of the inside too please.

Maybe you all have never seen a Dyna Spark, Like I said, They are sealed from the factory, Break the seal and you Void the warranty. With stock optis My motor was eating them up fast due to the very quick spool up, Rotors flying out the side of the cap, electronics failing,Not With the Dyna Spark... But its up to him if he wants to look inside and doesn't care about the warranty..

Thanks for the heads up man. I would love to take it apart and post pics for everyone, but I'll hold off it voids the warranty.

I'll post pics of the outside / install tho!!

I was looking at their website a couple of months ago, as I had to replace my "wobbling" opti, and I was checking out my options. It's mentioned on the posted installation instructions that if you open it, the warrant is voided.

The Dynaspark looks like a well engineered piece, and I did give it some thought. But, since my Z-28 has been down graded from "daily driver" to "cruiser, and my budget has been downgraded from "full time worker" to "retiree", I decided to simply get a Delphi replacement Opti.
