Default Exaust system?

Wanted to get a couple opinions from you guys. Aluminized 2.5" system vs a stainless 2.5" system. My Imp is a DD. The stainless is twice the price of the aluminized, is it worth that much?

Me personally, I would go with the stainless. Last forever and it's pretty

Oh I like the stainless. Clearimage Automotive has a system for $1200... Thats a bit spendy. Borla has one for $850 or flowmaster systems? I've got flowmaster mufflers right now and it sounds good.

Are you in a hurry for one? I'm probably gonna go true duels here soon and sell my stainless 3'' Magnaflow.

No not really. Just looking up what options I have available. As long as you throw in the cutous lol jk. If i go 3" I'd have to pick up a tubular cross member, but LE reccomends 3".

If this is for ur above B body, you need to go to www.impalassforum.com and look in the exhaust section, there is a really good and super cheap set of pipes made by Dynomax which you can get mail order with whatever muffs you want and put it all on the car yourself with hand tools, possibly get it welded up at ur local shop. Its all 2.5" mandrel bent alum and I think comes to $300-400 depending on what mufflers you choose. I think the DYnomax ones are avail in either SS or alum, I'd buy this setup in a second and use the SS on the mufflers as they are usually what rusts out not the pipes. I think another one to consider is by pypes, they have a 2.5" system with X pipe that is again a total bolt on setup. If this is for a F body, my bad disregard

Sweet I'll look into it. I'm leaning towards dynomax, but saw the pypes setup also. Initially wanted to go 304 ss system, but thats just too spendy.

Not quite going to have a $215 dollar catback, but going with the pype's xpipe the dynomax over axles and 24" stainless tips. I'd shell out the big bucks for the dynomax ss super flows but, I'll try out the cheaper summit turbos as i heard how they sound and they're actually ok. Definetly not welding them in, as i will get the dynoma's later down the road. Thanks again for the tip man. I was damn nearly going to spend double on a complete cat back system from a major brand.

You'll be happy with that setup. I had the same setup on my 95 9c1. I used 40 series flowmasters. It sounded great and was a very noticable difference. I ordered the pipes from rock auto. Ask on the board i'm sure someone has a dicount code and you can save another 5-10%.

i thought about going rock auto, but went with jegs and saved on the shipping. only paid 11.99 for handling on tail pipes and the xpipe. now i need to order those 24" tips off of ebay. Kinda wish my heads and intake came in so i can drop em off to the shop and finally get the dang motor in the car .. no rush tho great things come in due time i guess? right?

I'd highly recommend the dynomax resonator/tips instead of the ebay ones.. Not sure which ebay tips ur refering to but I had the summits on my car and it was a bit too noisy inside the car with just straight 2.5" tips I put on doing the el cheapo deal. I then ordered up the Dynomax pieces which is a small resonator welded to a SS tip that is maybe 3" diameter and just hangs down below the bumper line. Anyway they were $$$ but it totally made the exhaust look good and sounded just what I wanted, loud and mean when you got on it and almost stockish interior sound when u just cruised. Man I need another B body!!
