Default need some cam help.

Ok so I'm rebuilding my motor and my question is what would be a good cam for a 355 with stock heads. I want more power but it's my daily so I need some reliability. im thinking about the cc503 but im unsure right now.

The CC503 would be a great choice, IMO. It works extremely well with stock heads.

I told you before that I DD my car (CC503 cam-only) and it drives great. You're welcome to come and check it out any time. I might even let you drive it.

I use to DD with a cc503 and it was great, very reliable and comfortable. That cam works real nice with stock heads too. I wouldnt go any larger if I were you for a DD and make sure if your an auto that you get the proper stall to match whatever cam you decide on otherwise DDing will become a nightmare.

Yes, the stock stall will not work out too good with that cam. I ran the stock stall with the cc503 before I got my SS3600 and it was a PITA to drive. A 2800-3600 stall would be real nice.

Yank is quite possibly the best of the best, I've had great luck with them as well as tons of people on this site.

I had good luck with a 230/236 .544/.55 112lsa grind when I had my 355 in before I swapped it out for my 383. I used a 3200 stall and that setup was pretty streetable. I actually still have the cam if your interested. http://www.cardomain.com/id/Chevyguy358
Although my heads did have some work done to them, it was mostly just alil minor work

Unsure about CA because I know how tight they are but the cc503 can pass in every other state with a proper tune. I would contact Bryan Herter (pcmforless) and see what he says about that.

With a CC503, you should be using LT's, and that will never pass smog.
But I know of a place you can take it.
