well I'm an auto, but I'm not saying the mount its self causes the vibration, (theres no way it could unless it changed your driveline angle) but amplifies any feelable vibrations X10 inside the car.

could be but not necessarily. I had vib problems almost exactly the same as the OP is describing. I got an LS1 DS and a poly tranny mount and TA mount and they were still present. I replaced the engine mounts which were slightly played out w/ poly mounts and still present. then I finally tracked it down to the rear TA bolts and bingo. no harm in the mods tho it really firmed things up for me. of course some people have problems w/ poly mounts tho so swap them out for rubber ones only if you tried everything else.

^^^^^Been there and done that! I put a new poly on mine and it vibrated like the car was coming apart. Took it off and just put a rubber one back on and problem solved. 15-20 bucks for a part you can always take back it's worth a try for as easy as they are to change.

I would have to say tranny mount to. I put a polly mount in mine because I kept breaking stockers and Now have vibration at around 80 mph. I wish I could go back to a rubber mount. i just might.

What brand Poly is everyone having issues with? I've mentioned this oddity before (and it's came from many Camaro users and an Energy Susp. engineer) that the Camaros for whatever reason have an issue with poly trans mounts. No one really understands why though, as what you'll be thinking right now is "they're the same body!", but that engineer started a thread in the Camaro section and was gathering data to try and fix the problem. They even hooked some folks up with full poly kits if they were with in driving distance of their main shop! Then the mods got mad because Energy isn't a sponsor and put the kibosh on all of that :\ The 2 mentioned fixes were removal of that spacer plate (not a spacer, I just can't remember it's name), and another was to also get poly TA mount. Yet a couple people since have said that actually didn't help any... so who knows

Anyways, I was thinking about putting an Energy back in mine, since I got my new tranny in there. So if no one here is using them, but all are having the problem, I might have to give it a go simply to be a guinea pig!

I think im using energy suspension mounts, its w/e brand byunspeed carries. I'd look it up but I have an impossible time using his website. no serious vibrations, just a very slight vib under certain driving conditions coming from the tunnel. the motor mounts and T/A mounts are new as of last summer, trans mount was from the summer before.

OP- I was just thinking you should check your LCA's to make sure their tight too

What tranny is it? Is it a used stock replacement, or a remanned, or brand new? Who did you buy it from on ebay?

Im an auto, but I have a bad vibration at higher speeds that gets really bad when I place the car in neutral. Or 3rd gear. I was thinking it was my driveshaft.

Agreed - I have the Prothane tranny (plus engine mounts) mount holding
up the 4L60E, and most definitely, the vibes are way up, but only at a
certain rpm/mph. Previous to the Prothane, the stock rubber mount has
broken a couple of times within a year or so. I suspect the reason the
rubber mount prematurely breaks is because of these weird vibes.

ThoR294 - did ya have the vibration before changing to a Prothane?

I'm getting the same vibrations at those speeds, and just like the OP said, when i put the clutch in they get worse. Everything is stock on my drive train. I haven't check the TA or anything yet but i'll get under there soon enough.

When I balance my wheels I don't use the fingers that go into the lug holes... if you guys know what Im talking about. I center it on the machine with the cup (so it centers on the hub). Could this maybe be an issue? I work at a toyota dealer so we do not have the correct thing to center the wheel using that finger thingie
