Question Could This Be My Problem ?

Well when i start my car in the garage to warm it up i get a strong gas smell, it did this before the header install and passed the sniffer test. now its getting worse and when i sit at a red light and take off it will stumble for a second then take off normal. and now im getting a random backfire more so with the stumble and back fire when im getting on it for a little while. Im starting to think a leaky injector?!?!?! ive pretty much changed everything else but have never even looked at the injectors. what do you guys think
Thanks for any input

it kinda seems like it could also be your opti going out. stumbling and backfiring is a symptom but idk about the gas fumes. mayb a fpr or pump to. id hook a fuel pressure gauge up n see if your pressure is low.

I don't know alot about this but sounds like problem i had last fall.car was missing and stumbling seemed just like opti but we had just put a new one in.
gas fumes were bad. after trying about everything turned out to be 1 injector had failed.

thats what im thinking, my new gm opti has about 3000 miles on it. and i know the feeling of the opti going out and this isn't it . it only misses that first brief second you push the gas like it has to much leaking in

Easiest thing to do is to pull up the rail with the injectors still attached. Prime the pump, if you see any fuel come out of any injectors, those injectors are bad.

You mean my set of stock injectors? Not sure what they go for. How does 40 + shipping sound? These are like new.

Yep - 4 bolts on top.

You might need to gently pry on the fuel rail to get the injectors dislodged from the intake manifold.

Did you figure out the problem? I'm experiencing a similar problem
My problem:
It will sometime run good
Then i'll be driving and at low RPM's it will cut out or stumble
I floor it and it hesitates for a second then it will take off hard and go smooth all the way to the redline
It seems like if I shut the car off let it sit a minute and start it back up it will run good till I go down the road a couple miles then it will stumble, hesitate, occasionally backfire and idle rough.

not yet, i did check to see if any of my injectors where leaking but seen nothing there. my car idles fine and only starts stumbling when i slightly push on the gas while driving. the back firing only happens after i have driven it hard, and the stumbling gets worse as well

When you install the injectors again, if there's no ripped O-Rings, use some vaseline on the lower O-Rings so they don't tear going back in.

It's funny when some people say I "looked" at the wires and they "look" fine and disregard it, only to discover 1 or 2 burnt wires after needless hours of troubleshooting. Not talking about you in particular, just stating in general.

Nah, I used the factory looms and I added Accel heat sleeves to the plug boots and no problems whatsoever. Just tuck them close to the block, keep them away from the headers and you'll be good. Use zipties generously if you have to.
