Default Advice on lt1 bottom end

Alright so I did a heads/cam swap to my '94 lt1 and it started to lose its oil pressure.. bet you never heard that before, huh? I want to buy a complete rotating assembly for either a 355 or 383. I say COMPLETE for both because during said cam swap, I stripped the threads inside the crank and they were re tapped.. so I figure I should just get a new crank either way. What are my options here when I need to keep the budget under $2500? I am leaning towards the 355 because of cost and I do not want to cut any corners whatsoever with a "cheap" 383.

I know this is a tough question for alot of people but just let me know what you think.

Also, here is a video link so you can see what I was working with before this oil pressure issue:

For $2500, it's going to be tough, very tough. Quality machine-work, assembly, and balancing alone will cost you over $1500, on top of the hard parts. I spent almost $4000 on my short block.

And the only difference in cost between a 355 and a 383, if you're buying a new crank, is nothing. It's the same price (unless you reuse your stock crank, but you say you don't want to). You might be able to pick up a used stock crank from someone for cheap and have it cut/polished.

Hmm, ok well I might opt for the used crank in that case. Advice on rod/piston selection?

My oil pressure went up with my H/C swap but we also welded on the pick up. Your burning crazy oil, you sure its the short and not a bad valve seal?
I just sold a perfect stock crank cheap. If i would of known!

Well I will know for sure shortly, but from all indications: slow loss of oil pressure, eventually almost 0 and new vibrations felt in the clutch pedal it looks to be the shortblock, so i'm preparing for the worst.

Edit: No loss in oil volume, just loss in oil pressure.

I just bought a Ai 355 and reused my stock crank for $1095 but they went up $100 so $1195.. machine work was 1,243.00...
Hot tank-$75
Bore hone .030-$300
Clean & polish crank-$65
mount new pistons-$88
replace cam bearings-$65
assemble short block-$450
balanced crankshaft-$200
So give or take depends on where you go and what you have done so im about
at $2,338

Now that seems right for me, thanks for the input.

Also, if anyone has a stock crank they need to get rid of let me know.

Add to that a gaskets set, timing chain, oil pump, bolts(if you didn't already get ARP for the heads), new fluids, and i'm sure something else will pop up. That will add another $4-500

Only things I will need out of that list are the gaskets, bolts and fluids.

But yeah random ish does pop up at inconvenient times, I will be prepared though.
