oil pan leak

Well I finally got my car running again after a year and half of sitting in the garage. Now I have a very small oil leak in the very front of the oil pan and also i have a rattling noise coming from the tranny. Once I think I get on top of the problems two more pop up. I guess back to saving up money to get it fixed. Once you get married, buy a house and have a kid its hard to put money into my toys.

Did you remove the TC or Oilpan at one time. If so when you put a new oilpan gasket on did you apply some RTV or the 4 corners and to the front and rear lips of the pan? This is what I had to do this weekend and now zero leaks.

Maybe the Gasket in that area dried up. As far as the T56 goes..what kind of rattling noise is it making?

Mine has a tiny leak on the bottom front edge of the pan. Tried a light coat of RTV to seal it but no go. Might try a bigger glob of it next time. Pisses me off.

If you have a leak already then you might as well take it apart and re-seal it that way. If you try to band-aid it, it will never work.

I there ever was a bandaid method, it would have to be a good cleaning and "the right stuff" It's like silicone but doesent need to be as clean, it pretty much sticks to evrything, Iv had to do it in a pinch before.
