Peculiar problem, rear hatch button does not work ?
Peculiar problem, rear hatch button does not work ? Peculiar problem, all of sudden the rear hatch release does not work on my 96 WS6. I just noticed this problem, tested and checked all the fuses, but the button just acts like there is nothing connected. I can't even hear the click sound the hatch release normally makes at the rear of the car. Does anyone have a suggestion ?

the button on my old z28 used to work on and off and it was becuase the connector was loose
Try changing the battery in your remote. Mine used to work off and on but Im sure it was because the battery was weak.
I installed a Viper 5900 and the trunk pop works perfect.
The watch battery is a lot cheaper though.. haha.

He's talking about the rear hatch release (little yellow button buy your left knee), not the key fob.
on the 96 Camaro its actually in the glove box. weird, huh.
anyway, mine does the same thing. It sometimes works and sometimes not. Ive found that if the car is on, theres a 50/50 chance it might not work, but if the car is off it works 100% of the time. What could cause this?
