Default LT1 vette heads

I just picked up a set of LT1 vette heads that are in working condition. Also a set of Crane 1.52 rr's. And a set of Crane dual valve springs. The rr's and springs are brand new in box. I got all of that for $400. Is that a good price. And in just a month or two those heads are going to LE. For some LE2 action. I'm so excited I can't wait. Atleast I can still drive the car while the heads are getting done. Is 1.52 rr's to big? I know usually people go with 1.6's?

1.52 is smaller than 1.6. if anything i would have just stuck with the 1.6rr. sounds like good pricing to me

1.52's are just a **** hair bigger than stock so no their def not to big. do you know the specs on the springs like how much lift they can handle? btw theres no difference between f & y body LT1 heads but I guess thats not a bad price on everything.

1.52..1.6 which has a bigger number lol. just messing with ya. but ya thats a good price. fbody heads r useally 500+ alone. RRs no matter the size are useally 100 buts minimum, and the springs...assumeing there good are the same or more.

Yes it was a very good price for the heads, rr's, and springs. I'd sell the rr's for whatever you can get for them and buy some Comp 1.6 Pro Mags.
If the Crane springs are the 10308 dual spring kit, they should be good for .600" lift. I use those same springs with my CC503 cam. I'd check to see what casting number the heads are, "374" and "643" are the desirable castings.

His number is way to high, and you got a great deal. You can expect to find LT1 alum heads for 2-3 bills.

Yes I was thinking about selling the rr's and getting 1.6's. I am going to go with the LE2 heads and the largest emission friendly cam. I don't remember the #. I am unsure of the casting #. But I will find out for sure before I do anything. I know the rr's and the springs are brand NEW in box. And they are3 dual valve springs. I will get more details later 2nite or in the morning.

My brother picked up the above mentioned heads today. The heads are in great shape everything looks good. I am not sure of the casting # but he did say that they are one of the 2 desireable #'s. He does have on ? though he has no idea what kind of lift his springs are rated for. They are a Crane Cam dual spring for a 92-97 GM SBC 350. Does anyone have any idea how he could find out exactly the specs and lift rate on these springs. Thanks for the ideas.

If you're paying any more than $200 for stock heads, you're getting jipped. They go around here between $125 and $175 all the time.

$500 for stock heads is a ripoff.

643s are more desirable for porting, because they have additional material that can be removed.

I was mistaken the head cast # is 10123374. the number on the crane dual vavle springs is 10308-1. I hope those springs will work. the cam I want to get is only a .525 lift. I heard that dual springs are good for .600. Is that true?

The 374 is one of the good castings.
The 10308 kit is good to ~.600" lift, you'll be fine.
