You need heads of the right casting numbers in good shape to avoid the core charge.

The price you see on AI's website includes a custom billet core cam. Also, the castings you will need have to end in 374 or 643. You send them your heads and they port those. If you do not have heads they will supply them but, they charge you extra money.(The core charge)

Let the head porter help you select the perfect cam.
I think you'll be happiest with something between 224/230 and 230/236.
A custom billet cam is part of the package

$600 ???? WOW
You can pick up a set of used LT1 heads for $175 without much trouble.
Look for casting numbers 374 or 643. Expect $25 for shipping.

What year is your car? 96-97 have castings with less material, which makes them less desirable for porting.
They can be ported too (not sure if AI does it or not, but I know LE will)
They just end up with slightly less flow because the casting has less "meat" for porting.

Ai also offers ported Trick Flow heads that have been proven to make serious HP. I don't know about the Dart Pro 1's I haven't done any reading up on them.

LE and Ai can port your own stockers or some Darts or Trickflows, whatever you want. The common LE2, Ai 200cc etc. packages are stock ported heads. I am a very satisfied Lloyd Elliot customer and Advanced Induction has many satisfied customers as well so you cannot go wrong with either. Give them both a call and see who you like the best, good luck.

I think Dart did a good job on the PRO1 out of the box.
Specifically, a nice vlave job compared to some of the other stuff I'd seen.
I think ported stock heads will outperform even the PRO1 200cc offering.

One thing I didn't like was that they left the pushrods close together.
TFS actually leaves a little more room between them for porting.

Both LE and AI port from used castings.
A set from 93-95 cars are your best bets since they have more material to work with.
Most people buy a spare set to send in for porting, then sell of their stockers later to minimize downtime.

I daily drive my 430rwhp 200cc Ai's without any complains. So far it has been reliable which is a nice change from my old combo. Their customer service is also top notch, and they do all the machine work in house with their machines instead of outsourcing it to the cheapest bidder. I always see people asking about power goals but no one seems to care about reliability.
