Default P0300 Misrfire

My car is acting up again. My SES light came on today and i find out that its a multiple misfire. It happened right after i did some dougnuts in the parking lot... LOL I did some research and found out that most of the time its just the plugs and wires. My opti is pretty new, it only has about 3000 miles on it. Installed headers a while back and only drove about 1000 miles with them. Only thing i didnt replace was the wires. They were replaced when i had the opti done but theyre just stock wires with no heat shield on them. If the wires are the problem what ones should i get?

The CPS on OBDII cars is notoriously sensitive. Doing donuts, driving aggressively, even potholes can set a P0300. If you're not feeling a misfire, I'd clear the codes (pull the PCM fuse) and see if it returns.

I found out the problem. One of the wires were sitting directly on one of the header tubes. It was melted all the way thru. I moved it away from it and started her up and she ran so much better. I found some wires on JEGS for 39.99. The 8.5mm ones. sounds good to me. What heat sleeves is everyone using?

If you route the wires in the factory locations, you won't need heat sleeves.

I use a set of Accel heat sleeves for insurance. I still run 7mm wires through stock looms with LT headers without issue. When the time comes for new wires, I might try the Summit wires.

i've been tracking down a misfire for months now. new opti, summit wires, coil, finally realized the plugs in it aren't nearly as new as i was thinking. the summit wires are actually pretty good. i didn't get the jegs because they're kinda ugly
