stall converter help
i dont know which stall to get for my 93 camaro. i am putting both the motor and tranny back together and ive heard many different opinions. the car will be used for both street and some track, mainly D.D and fun weekends, i put a hot cam in and maybe some spray later on this year so should i go with a 2800 or 3500 stall? also it is a rebuilt 700r4

That spray will alter the choice of converter so I would call up Yank or a good manufacturer like them and talk to them. If you run say a 3200 stall N/A, it will stall higher than that on the juice and your shift extensions will go up. You want to make sure to have your shift extensions no more than about 800rpm below peak so it's very important to talk over your setup with somebody like Dave at Yank etc.
At what rpm do you shift the car? what rear gears do you have?
The SS3600 would probaly be a great choice (shift extension on that was 4900rpm with my 3.73's). Yank didn't want me to run the SS4000 with juice since my shift extensions would be too high for where I shift so that's why I went with the SS3600. The SS3200 would be great too but may be leaving a bit on the table, depends what your willing to put up with.

Right now I was shifting the car around 5900 or so. I don't plan on running a big shot but 100 or 125. Will be as high as I go. Also I have 373 gears in the rear, I don't think those will be to much for the hot cam

Call up the Manufacturer's and see what they reccomend, i know everyone tends to think that the Yank 3600rpm stall is the best all around stall, but that is their opinions. For me Yank was a little on the pricey side, i talked with Edge Converters and found a 3200rpm stall was perfect for my cammed bolt-on LT1.

I scored a used Yank 3500 and stuck it in my car a couple weekends ago. Definitely noticed the extra flash during regular acceleration, but it's in no way overbearing. It'll hit lock up somewhere around 40-45. I still have some tuning issues to finger out, but it's been damn fun so far.
