Mine is a trans am so I'm not to sure about your dash. But in my opinion it is well worth taking out the whole thing and installing the delete plate from the inside. And also I bought my a/c delete plate from Alvin at pcmforless. It is cheaper than the BMR one and it is of nice quality. They don't have them on the website so you just have to call if you want to go that route
How much was it?

Nice, how long did the whole procedure take? Estimate of weight of the components removed?

I went to a local welding shop and got a 20" X 30" sheet of aluminum and cut my own this weekend. It cost me all of 10 bucks and 1 hour of cutting with a wheel.

Just throwing another option out there.

I had mine pulled in about an hour and a half (not including reinstall of dash) i put the dash back in a few days later which took me maybe 45 minutes now knowing where all the bolts were and what it took to remove it. I also trimmed all unneeded wires; such as an old alarm that was no longer used, old audio system wires, all a/c related wires(minus rear defrost)and then retaped the wires back to the clips and clipped them back into the dash bracket. it removed roughly 30lbs i would guess. i might be wrong though i havent actually weighted it. That is also including the heater core plugged and full of old water.

It's like a weight lifted off your shoulder when you pull out all the stuff from under the dash. It makes me feel good knowing all the useless junk (to me that it) is gone. The whole HVAC system weighs like 35lbs. Plus getting that engine bay cleaned up is a thing of beauty.

it took me about 4 hours to pull the whole hvac out including the dash out and back in. I did have the advantage of pulling these dashes out a few times before but it really isnt that bad if you just take your time and keep track all of your little 7mm scews (they're are a ton of them) iirc
