Default Valvetrain decision

so im pricing out valvetrain components, and im stuck between 2 choices.

1)Either i spend 791 on a full comp setup http://www.compperformancegroupstore...Category_Code= plus 326 for pro mags 1.6 rr's and a timing setup for 543 total=1660.53
but that still leaves me with the stock heads, so option 2 is...

2)http://www.elliottsportworks.com/lt1.html the one i would be getting is the LE2 for 1650, but then i still have to get the pro mags for 326 and the timing setup for 543 totalling 2519$... opinions? im thinking going with the LE2's just for the increased flow in the heads, because what good is a valvetrain if the heads arent flowing enough to make um shine...
any opinions? thanks!

If your sprockets are in good shape you can get away with a new GM $45 timing chain.

Yeah dude you can get a cloyes double roller for like $80 from summit but you may have to trim the timing cover...not a big deal though. And Shon herron (herronperformance.com) sells the pro mags for like $270 free shipping. You can save yourself some money by just checking around. But the LE2 route is a great way to go. Many satisfied customers. My family has had like 4 or 5 sets of ported heads by Lloyd and always satisfied.

Everyone is recommending they Cloyes double roller without even knowing what year his car is. He's got to factor in the definite cost of an electric water pump, the possibility of a new timing cover, possibly having to use the longer OBDI crank hub, AND the fact he needs to run a vented optispark setup. Being that we have no idea what year is car is, no one can make any educated guesses or proposals for his timing setup.

Exactly, that's why everyone should have relevant vehicle data in their sig before they ask vague questions.

I included an EWP in my list of things to get. I should have listed the possibility of the longer hub and vented opti being required, but as you said, I don't know his year.

Since he said the timing setup was going to cost $543 I think it's fair to say that he has a vented opti. Seeing how there's only one "aftermarket" timing setup for non vented opti's and it's $100. Actually it's a stock piece but Lunati slaps their name on it. And since you can get the stock piece from GM for like $100 or so... But hopefully you guys understand my logic. It wasn't just pulled out my butt.
