Default which heads are better?

advanced inductions 200cc cnc'd heads? or the dart 200cc heads? the dart heads can be bought for $1350 and the AI heads are $1975 (with a cam).

basically what im asking is... are the AI heads going to flow any different than the dart heads? if not. im going to save some money and buy the darts so i have more money to do the little things to the motor.

the AI heads probably do flow more because there ported and polished so the intake and exhaust runners are nice and smooth as apposed to how the darts are as cast

The AI's most likely do flow more, but do cost a pretty penny more. If it were me, i'd go with the Darts for 2 reasons: First, they cost less even with a cam [figure another 300 for the cam thats matched like the AI's being matched with a cam and you are still only at $1650] Now figure you can sell your old heads, thats a good couple hundred at least back in your pocket [lets assume $200 back in your pocket for the stock heads] You're at a total of $1450 for heads and cam package, compared to AI's which is $1950.Second reason, would be later on in the future if you are looking to get real serious, you can have those Darts ported by AI or LE, and then they will really be some nasty heads!

But to each his own, thats just my $.02

There's an article somewhere where they bolted the Dart heads on to a slightly modded LT1 and noted the performance gains. Don't remember where though.

EDIT: Here it is:

Ok my bad I should have said MEANINGFUL measured data. That is not.

One "reputable" LT1 builder offers a 520hp engine that puts 390 or less to the wheels and his 440hp motors are solidly documents in the 320s rwhp.

Man i'd be pissed if i paid for a 520hp engine and got anthing under 430rwhp, but 390 i would be chasin someone down for a refund

The people who use that builder are none too bright. Lack of power and reliability are well documented but he is still respected by the community. IMO says more about the community than the builder.
