120,000 miles on my motor and all i have is a tiny bit a seepage at the front and rear of the oil pan, never been enough to drip on the ground
when i had my tranny out in the fall i was able to get a good look at the back of the intake manifold and it's sealed up tighter than a drum as well

Speedfreak it looks like you might need some rustproofing after looking at your picture. I lived on the beach for just a year with no garage and its hard on your car.
I guess my leak could be the back of the oil pan. I can see some seepage throught the small hole in the center of the transmission dust cover.

I had leaks on a 396 build that drove me nuts..pulled motor and replaced gaskets and seals...STILL leaked, my saying is"
"If you got an LT1 that aint leaking oil..you better check it cause there might not be NONE IN IT"
There are exeptions of course

I'm the original owner of a 72,000 mile, '96 Z-28. IMHO, this engine, while a strong runner, leaks more oil than ALL of my other cars combined! (And I've owned a lot of cars since 1968)
I'm in the process right now, of replacing the oil pan gasket, rear main seal, and all of the front cover seals. This is the second time for the oil pan and front cover seals.
I originally thought that the rear main seal was leaking, so I got the entire gasket set, in order to do the complete job. There was enough oil around the rear of the engine, that it was impossible to see the rear main was NOT leaking, but that didn't become obvious until I had removed the tranny and flexplate. At that point, I was already in there, so what the hell....
The saga started when the car was almost 3 years old, and still under factory warranty. The rear of the intake started to seep oil, but as most of us know, that is common. The EGR tube "cooks" the RTV, and there goes the seal. I've subsequently replaced that gasket set every 3 years since...
The crankshaft position sensor also likes to leak oil. The "o-ring" that's on there is pretty thin, so it "cooks out" pretty quickly. GM doesn't sell just the "o-ring", but they'll gladly sell you a sensor and "o-ring" for $35 though...
However, that "o-ring" is commerciallly available at any industrial supplier.
Got to get back to the garage now, as the car isn't going to finish itself!!

117K miles on original motor and it has some seeps/film but nothing that hits the ground. Looks like the front of the timing cover/oil pan area for one. Maybe the rear main, but nothing major enough to hit the ground and cause me to worry about it just yet. When heads and cam get done I will try and seal them up though for sure...

I have three buddies all with lt1 z28's 1 is a 95 with 107k mls no oil leaks (although he just recently threw a rod...) another 97 120k mls leaked zero oil, car was treated like **** by previous owner to. Then there is the last guy with a 97 I'm pretty sure he bought it with like 140k and it's leaking from the rear main... bad!!
