Got it to fit! As most of you know ive been trying to get this to work without cutting up the core support. Awhile back I bought the Glassteck 4 inch cowl hood hoping it would just bolt up...well it didnt. It was hitting the underhood bracing. So my friend brought over a cutoff wheel and we cut out the bracing under the cowl section of the hood and test fitted the lid and to our surprise it fit like a glove Now just have to go to AutoZone and pick up the temp sensor to fit into the lid. I will get some better pics soon, just took these from a cell phone. And yes I know, the engine bay is long overdue for a makeover...

Looks good.

It adds more than a CAI, it's a shorter path for air to travel and it works better.

Anyone reading this I have a 93-97 SS Camaro hood with the LS1 intake setup on it. It is NOT the SS V2 which looks like a 98-02 SS hood, it is a new style that looks IDENTICAL to a 97 SS hood on the top, but has the functional setup for an LS1 Style intake like what the OP got going. If you want that stock 93-97 SS look with the functional LS1 Style intake, I got it...It is still BRAND NEW, and in the original wrapping. It is not primered or painted and still has the gel coat protectant on it. I bought it to mod my 97 Z28 but ended up getting my 97 SS and dont need it anymore. Never installed, never removed from wrapping. 300 plus shipping

NICE!! I'm assuming you used the Ls1 base I sent you? did you have to do any more trimming on it to get this to fit or did it work with that portion I cut out? Also what about the radiator core area did you cut any of that out to match the filter opening area?

you guys need to read. he said it was a 4" glasstek cowl hood. look at it, the cowl begins at the very front of the hood and that is why it fits. i highly doubt a lid would clear even an SS hood without some cutting of something

Multmigs-i just slapped on the base you sent me. No trimming done on it.

All I had to do for trimming was just the underside of the hood. And basically is was just some fiberglass that was under the cowl scoop. I will snap some pics tonight or tomorrow of the hood, but I haven't smoothed the edges out yet, so it looks a little rough. Shouldn't be noticable after I'm hoping.

again for anyone following this, the LS1 base part isn't stock it was cut down to sit flush on the LT1 rad support which is slightly different shaped than a LS1 version. this also eliminates the 1/2" gap in the front where the stock LS1 air filter gets most of its air from, so my ??? still remains did you chop a section of the metal out inside for the air??

Losing tha tgap is a good thing, I am looking for ways to easily block mine off but alot of air get lost through that gap. Wondering if a Fast toy ram air would fit on the LT1's without much modifacations to force a little bit more into the lid. Also, pay attention to the back side of the lid where is meets the lower box. My SLP lid had a small gap that allowed air to blow through, I know have a 85mm Lid that sit a bit lower but the gap in teh back is bigger so I have to find a good way to block that off and pressurize the lid. A set-up like this should outflow a CAI by a pretty decent amount.
