Default Just a quick question

ok guys well I got the tranny out lastnight.. Took about 3 hours not too bad for the first time taking out a t56 but I could have done better because I kept taking breaks because I was getting pissed because I cut myself all up but heres some pics.

Now for these pics is the clutch actuator good? When I took it off the cylinder part came off but the boot and rod stayed in the adapter/bracket on the tranny is this normal?

Yes, the rod isn't attached to anything. I just get held in between the clutch fork and slave cylinder.

As long as you don't have any clutch disengagement problems then you're fine. I still have the stock rod and slave cylinder on my 165K mile '97 SS that's gone through several clutches.

ok guys quick question... The tranny will go in and stop about 1/2" from sitting flush with the bellhousing, and it wont budge anymore. Now I am being told its not aligned correctly but it seems like it is because with it in this far seems like the splines are lined up. I was also told to hook up the slave cylinder and clutch form and have someone press on the clutch and it should go in. Should I try this or do you guys think something is wrong?

Did you wiggle the clutch alignment tool periodically and see if the tool would still slip in and out easily when you were done bolting the pressure plate to the flywheel?

The idea of bolting up the slave cylinder and pushing the clutch in is interesting. Give it a try and report back. That is assuming that the trans is far enough in to have the clutch fork engage the t/o bearing.

Yes the clutch fork will fit on the t/o bearing.
