Default LT4 water pump question

There's a connecting piece that connects the 2 male ends (one from the output of the block, and the other from the water pump) and I need to know how to get that piece off. I am changing out my water pump and need to get that piece off so I can finish the job. Thanks

Just on there good. I just put a screw driver in there and just twisted the screw driver and it pushed it right off.

I put some WD40 on it, and let it sit for a while, but some channel-locks on it, and wiggled it, and it came right off. Thanks

Grease it and use new o-rings when you reinstall it.
