I would say stock is fine. Being from the forced induction side, we get away with using a stock radiator even with all the under hood heat from a turbo. Not to mention an intercooler which blocks some airflow to the radiator. Most need different fans but that's only because of space.

Yep stock is fine. When I had p1sc procharger, it would still only run 200-210 sittin in traffic on a 90 degree day.

figure i bump this instead of starting a new thread for a simple question -

I need to replace my radiator, and im just looking for a stock replacement or anything comparable. I called a few part stores and they had the following brands: Spectra, Ready-Rad, Proliance... between ~$130-175

Any of these trustworthy? Not looking for a glorious be-cool piece but also dont want a cheapo brand... thanks!

Why does that part number/price different from when you go thru the vehicle year model search? It came up with $313

Stock GM radiator works fine. I have always gotten great prices from Sam Taylor, I had a 383 and never had an issue. The 90k stocker had pin hole leaks.

If its an auto, it incorperates a transmission cooler, and M6 cars do not. I never really liked GMpartsdirect.com like I said earlier, I use a different place or know a mechanic at a local place that gets a parts discount. Just have them research the part through the dealership's database.

My car gets up to 200 degrees in city driving with the a/c on in the summer with my becool, so I would imagine a stock radiator would get quite a bit higher than that.

Not really,

But again it depends on the set up. MAYBE a FI car may have higher under hood temps but N/A or even with Nitrous, depending on the tune (fan settings and thermostat), mine stayed rock steady at 160, even with the A/C on.

I'm running the stock radiator, be cool 170 thermostat and the car was tuned, I never see it get over 180 and that is with the A/C(OK there was that one freak time a while back I had a thread on). The radiator is about a year old I have in it, I don't think GM carries the radiator without the integrated trans cooler anymore, I had got my radiator from the dealership and they couldn't get me one with no trans cooler.

My car runs right below 180 at all times, even in this dreaded south florida summer heat.. Stock radiator, 160 t-stat and electric water pump
