Default front turn signal...

as we all know... the front turn signals on our LT1 cars are lemons. but i have a different scenario. the front right turn signal does not come on or flash. the park lights work and the right rear turn signal comes on. it acts as if a bulb is out at the right front. i have no current at the socket for the turn signal and the ground wire from the socket is good and has continuity. i looked at a wiring diagram and the only part that could be the problem is the drl (daytime running light) module. has anyone else had to do this? a new one is $400 from the dealership. just figured i should ask the fellas before putting down that kind of money. thanks

My car seems to have the same trouble. And it's intermittent.....I traced the lack of power to the front right turn signal to the DRL module. I disconnected the connectors and reconnected them and it worked...for a day.

I guess I need to look for a used module.

So, I guess the trouble is not the turn signals, but the DRL module. No DRLs on my car and never had a turn signal problem.

On my car it's behind (well I guess technically in front of) the radio. A small black box with 2 connectors.

my 1997 camaro has the front park lights that stay on all the time... the drl module controls this. it also changes from park light to turn signal when the turn signal switch is turned on. this is why one or both of the turn signals were intermittent. so there has to be a relay of some fashion inside the drl module that controls this... and it went bad

I bought a used DRL module off eBay, and popped it in my car and was thrilled to see if fixed my passenger side directional. However.....my driver's side doesn't work with the 'new' one. When I pop the old one back in, it goes back to the passenger side not working.

VERY frustrating!!! At this point I'd like to get rid of the DRL all together and just have functional turn signals. Not sure how possible that is.

Very possible.. I have functioning Turn Signals and no DRL Module crap.

I assume that the Module has a Connector.. post a pic of the Connector and maybe I can help you wire something up..or someone here possibly has an idea already.

There's 2 connectors for it. Don't just pull it out and leave it that way, it will disable other stuff. Only 97+ cars have the module (although my 97 doesn't have automatic headlights, but my brother's 99 Camaro does).

I was asking him for them to figure out a way to wire around it.
