Come hell or high water I'm making it there next year, even if I have to use Tapouts registration.

I had a great time as well.
My motor was not running right with an intake manifold gasket leak at the bottom of the ports, causing it to suck up hot air and oil from the lifter valley... a front tire blew the night before leaving home and so I showed up to the shootout exhausted after dealing with that episode... and I broke the carrier in my Strange 12 bolt part way through eliminations... and I still had a great time!!!
I am looking forward to next year already but certainly hope to have the car running right and have a lot less hassles and just more pure racing fun. If I can cut it down to just 50% of the problems I had this year, I will have an absolute freakin' blast.
Every LTX racer needs to try and make it in 2010.

Texas still had more racers than any other state except Missouri.
There is a core group of friends here in central Texas that includes the organizers of the Shootout. The organizers choose KCIR to be a "fair" and somewhat central location. If we were to hold the event in Texas, it would be easier on a lot of us, but we make the drive to support the event and support our friends who run it.
Hope you can make it next year.

Did outlawZ's car make it? last I heard he was out of the states..
What's terrible about the whole thing is that my car NOW and when I was on my deployment and my chief was driving is running AWESOME!!!!!! It went 10.65 on motor recently in testing. We solved some electrical issues and the car went ballistic on nitrous picking up 5 mph from a battery swap....
We only ran 150 shot jets and went 9.72@143.6 mph..... moderate leave, barely touching the wheelie bars and went 1.42 60'... it's got a savage tune in it right now and is ready to go for some shots across the bow to claim the nitrous record.... we're going testing soon for 300 shot passes, then 350 shot passes and then if all is well we'll attempt the 400 hit....
Sorry I couldn't make it this year. I wanted more than anything to attend but sometimes what makes me money has to take priority. especially in these economic times....
