Question What rings for backyard rebuild?

Well, I am doing a h/c swap so I figured I might as well freshen things up a bit. As the title states, what rings for the stock pistons?

I don't really want to spend more than 50 dollars since I am going to be replacing the bottom end next rear.

I've been looking through summit and my god their are a lot of different options.
Is there a link somewhere for a guide on piston rings?

I don't think you can even get a stock set of rings for $50...the top ring is moly.

Hastings has a good set for $100 or so...they work good on stcok rebuilds

The stock rings are metric, not cheap, but they are pretty good. I would leave well enough alone unless you have specific reason to think they need replacing.

I'd just run down the your local AZ, they can order you a set for around $80 and they are metric and moly so they are decent quality. They are actually made by Hastings, but are repackaged like most of the parts store stuff.
