Fuel Tank Heat sheild delete?
backing out of my steep driveway has taken its toll on the heat sheild that is between the muffler and the fuel tank. does the muffler ever get hot enough for it to matter? or is this just safety engineering overkill from GM
i'm going to have to either try to bend it back into shape or remove it and i think removing it will look much better.

It's more than a heat shield, it is a layer of protection for your tank as well. Keeps the things you accidently run over from puncturing your tank.
I would keep it in. It weighs maybe 2 lbs.
