I am trying to get the hoses/compressor back in so i can have a/c in my car again and i cant get the hoses back in, specifically the metal part that goes behind the compressor, there is a bracket that the compressor rests against and i cant get the hose on the other side of it. I had to remove the compressor, run the lines, then reinstall the compressor. The bend on that hose will not allow for it to be installed any other way. I spent 3 hours trying to fight it . It took about 30 minutes to remove the compressor and install it.

So any tips on how to get it in? I have tried from every angle i can think of and it still gets caught on that bracket.

AC delete pulley here.

On my buddies car, I think we had to pull the motor mount pins and jack up the engine a little to have better access. But that was a long time ago and I don't remember. He too has deleted his AC later.

I can only imagine the horror of this. I fought for a long time to get those lines out, much less putting them back in!

I had my header off on the passenger side. Not sure if it helped that much. I was surprised how easily the line went in AFTER I removed the compressor. I just laid it in the spot it was going to and lowered the compressor on top. Bolted up.

Have you removed the alt? You need to get as much out of the way. Not sure if messing with the sway bar will help. I did not.

I took out Alt, P/S, and took rear a/c bracket off block and they went in fairly easy.

okay, got it all back in last night, dropped the sway bar and took out the rear bracket and it slide right in, hopefully this new compressor will do the trick, my next thing i need to do is replace some of the vacuum line that broke off, shouldnt be too hard though. Just have to finish that and my double din stereo install and i will be set for some summer cruising.

Did you flush the condenser, evaporator, and the lines while you had it all apart? If not take it all apart and do it again. If your A/C compressor had seized who knows how much stuff went through your system. Also pull a vacuum on the system prior to recharging it.

They sell the flush at part stores. Just follow the directions on the can, you will need a air compressor.
