Might be a good time for the fuel line delete/swap mod... where you get rid of the plastic lines and go with braided steel and get them out of the way as well... umm... few minutes and I'll find a link

You can cut the plastic off of the metal fitting, cut the line straight across past the kink and boil the newly cut end. Once it's soft enough put the metal fitting back into the plastic and slide it down until the line bottoms out on the collar of the fitting. Let it cool or put it in some cold water and you should have a fuel-tight fit. Don't burn your hands!

I am trying to get new ends on the black nylon fuel line and am having zero luck. I boiled the tubing for 20 minutes and it did not get soft at all. Then I tried a heat gun and all I can say is - big mistake. Someone please help me figure out how to get the tubing so I can put the new ends on.

The heat gun didn't work for me either.. I used some Epoxy and some rubber hose, that worked.

I epoxy'd the Plastic line and slipped the hose on over it a few inches for a good seal. The feed side was leaking a little bit so I put a pipe clamp on it to squeeze it a hair and that worked well.

Here is a pic..
