Default what size headers should I get??

Im looking at getting these long tube pacesetters I know I want long tube but they come in 1 5/8 inch primary tubes and 1 3/4 primary tubes and I was gonna go for the 1 3/4 but I didnt know if it would cause problems with gaskets and what not.

Without a doubt go 1 3/4 longtubes. Go long or go home.

If you plan on future mods, go with the 1 3/4" long tubes. If the car is going to see no other mods beside the headers and maybe a CAI go with the 1 5/8".

Very simple. Larger primaries = more exhaust flow. The more modifications you do to the motor, the more air it will require and better exhaust flow. The quicker you get those exhaust gasses out, the better.

Yup at least 1 3/4. The new LPP's would be a nice upgrade.

From what I understand, bigger isn't necessarily better. It depends a lot on your setup.

For a bolt on car, even a stock car, 1 3/4 primaries are not overkill..

I have read that 1 5/8" primaries might be better, or at least sufficient, for most bolt on cars. I'm not sure anyone makes a 1 5/8" long tube. I think 96capricemgr runs a 1 5/8" header on his car, and it's apparently no slouch.

Headers need to be the right size much like a cam for a given set-up. Just like many are using more cam than what they need for a given et, some are using more header primary size than necessary. Just my opinion. You might want to do a little research though. Not all that you read on these boards is 100 percent full proof, believe it or not.

1 3/4 for sure. That's what i have.
Some LPP 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 would be nice.

There have been guys put shorties on with either 1 3/4 primaries or 1 5/8 primaries and gained very little if any. But I've never heard or long tubes with 1 3/4 primaries without a good gain. Long tubes are the ONLY way to go. You'll be dissapointed if you don't.
