How much boost can I run and how is this cam?
I posted this in the forced induction section but didn't get any response so I thought I would try it here.
I am building the motor for my 94 Z28 which is getting a Vortech T-trim put on it. I am putting a set of forged -22cc pistons with stock crank into a 4-bolt main corvette block. It also has ported heads. How much boost will I be able to run with this setup and how reliable will it be? Also I am trying to decide on a cam and I was looking at the 224 / 236, .502 / .520 114 comp cam. I have 1.6 ratio Crane RR's so the lift would be 535 / 554. Has anyone run this cam? How does it drive and what would the shift point be for it? With this setup how much power do you think I would be putting down with how much boost?

That is the same dish piston that I am putting on my boosted application. I have a forged 355 LT1, running 15 psi (P1SC), non-ported heads, exhaust/cut out, and a reverse dual plane cam (in order to make up for the non-ported heads).
Your cam seems to be in the ball park, not ever used that specific cam though.
Who are you going to use for tuning . . . . I live in Jackson, MI (close to you, and I have not completly decided on who to go with yet!)

I think I will probably be tuning it myself. I don't know how far you would want to drive but check out Baker Engineering. They are a sponsor on this site.
Does anyone else have any input?
