Do it yourself.

Buy a cable that plugs into a laptop.

www.moates.net

then download a program then tune.

that simple.

Start small. Disable EGR, set fans, etc when you get comfortable, add a little timing etc

Count yourself lucky that TPIS did not get back to you.

Not to sound like a dick but u need to stop reading ads in the back of magazines or quit listening to whoever is giving you advise. I'm assuming that's why you went with the Hypertech, not once but twice, according to your other post. If you had researched all the different Lt1 boards I doubt you would've found anyone who would've pointed you towards the Hypercrap. As for TPIS, once again if you researched you might have found a few people satisfied with them. Also, if a business would not respond to my emails, after about the 2nd or 3rd email I would have sent an email telling them to kiss my *** and so on.
To get you started, www.tunercats.com Click on links for datalogging programs, I'd recommend Datamasters.
If you want someone else to do the tuning, www.pcmforless.com, www.madz28.com, Ed Wright at www.fastchip.com
There are others but the the 1st 2 sites get mentioned a lot. There's been debate as to who is better. Once again use the search since this stuff has been debated many times over.

There are a number of good tuners all across the country. Then there are a number of POPULAR tuners that people mistake for good.

I have used pcmforless and in hindsight consider that a mistake.

I have used pcmperformance and am happy.

I have loaded madz28 programms for several friends with good results and used him for pcm repair, again happy with that.

In between all that I used another tuner that tends to stay out of the mailorder thing, as I learned more I began to see he had put almost no effort into my programming, which really sucks because he was the most expensive I tried.

Ed Wright is good, far as I know he was the first to offer custom LT1 tuning. Been tuning things WELL longer than many of us have been alive.

Impossible to know other than to say it should be substantial. A bone stock car benefits from a reprogramming, it is crucial to making a modified engine run right.
