Starting Issues!

Starting Issues! Okay so i use to have a v6 starter on my block but now i just bought a brand new one and it works amazing but..sometimes it works and others it doesn't.
It engages every time but it wont spin it! Only sometimes it will.
I now ran a wire from my block to my starter to get a better ground, at first it seemed like that was the problem but its still there!
i also know that my wires on my starter are good. I know there are many more options but what is the most reasonable one? What should i check next?
