Long tube/steering shaft problem
My #1 primary on the driver's side is extremely close to the steering shaft. I took the linkage off to get the header on, and even with the linkage off the primary is close and i can't get the linkage back on.
Any pointers? Get creative with a hammer on the primary? Grind the linkage down?

I have the Lpp headers and i just took the shaft off and hit it with some light sand paper.. and make sure you put the shaft in a way that the knuckle is not hitting it but it will work

You might want to pull the header off and use a round pipe and place it against the header pipe and hit it with a hammer to make clearance. I had to make a slight dent in my primary with my hooker longtubes and it worked great...just enough to clear the shaft. It might take a few tries of fitting but go slowly and only dent it enough to make clearance and not more.

Hey:
Loosen the bolts at the firewall for the steering rack, slide it as far as you can towards the middle of the car, and remove the cover from the shaft. If that does not give enough room remove those bolts and slot the holes about a 1/4"-3/8"and that should do it. It will articulate the angle enough to keep the shaft from making contact with the header pipe, don't dent the pipe and no grinding should be required this way. Also new poly trany and motor mounts help with the contact/clearence of the subframe and the headers.

The headers are the ebay stainless kooks/lpp knockoffs. They fit great other than the steering shaft. I am out of town this week but when i get back ill try to slide the shaft out from the firewall before i grind/dent anything up.
Thank you guys very much for the responses
