Default what clutch, mcleod twin or spec 3+

some may know my setup others not, basically 4.30 gears, maxed out d1sc, big cam blah blah blah suspension work, etc. looking for north of 600rwhp. dont expect to pass 650 but never know...

the street twin is 1300 bucks. OUCH.

the spec3+ is 688. OUCH.

which one will work best for me? Ive been dead set on the twin disc for weeks now and friday is the day one or the other is being bought. so help me decide.

find a used street twin....rebuilds are like 300-400 dollars ...... they engage like stock ( I could daily drive mine ) and are a b!tch to break/find the weak link in your drivetrain

I have a ST and love it. Drives great pedal is like stock and easy to slip + will take whatever you can throw at it. Ask my output shaft and yoke. If you can afford it get the Twin

Either should foot the bill. But the ST is so darn expensive. I'm the guy with the spec 3 btw. I liked it, just ended up parting my car out because of money issues. It's good to 680 ft lb of torque. So it would handle what you have. PM me if you're interested.

I'd say go with the street twin its worth the extra coin. I've had mine in (cam only set up) for around 22k now and it still holds great and I DD it.

Personally I would stay away from spec, but thats just me. My spec 3 went out in around 6k, and a friends 3+ went much faster but in a h/c car.

Oh and if you can find a used ST then jump on it, I picked mine up for $900 locally and it had been freshly rebuilt by Mcleod.

I have a ST and really like it. My buddy years ago tried a spec 3, and was very unhappy with it.

I just got my twin in and have about 15-20 miles on it. It's a grabby ****! I went from the 3+ to the street twin. My 3+ held good for about 5-6k miles and that was it. Starting slipping like a bitch. Thats with about 390rwtrq. The 3+ was a POS, chattered like a sob, lasted 6kmiles and was trash. Biggest waste of time/money/headaches. Go with the McLeod and be done with it. I had a McLeod single disc setup before the 3+ and it lasted me 15k miles and was still holding strong before I made some changes and went with the 3+ on a new tranny, MISTAKE! So I went back with McLeod, no complaints so far. It's really grabby, doesn't like to slip, pedal feel is about the same as the 3+, and I have a feeling it will out last the spec by at least 3x. Oh and I got it for $550 brand new from a guy off ebay. Just had some rust on it from sitting in a garage.
