Mines also giving the maf code don't remember which one tried switching it out with my buddys maf off his 94 camero reset the computer and as soon as I started the car back up the code came right back. Wonder if I need a new ecm. on a side note my car runs crazy rich i've been thinking that has to do with the maf code I get? Thanks for the tip about the manual fan switches Merv. After I get my funds for my rebuild I'll do that. But the car is hardly ever driven right now because I'm to imberessed from all the smoke.

okay, still having a problem with the fans, he's not wanting to install manual fan switches, so we're left with a wiring problem I guess.
anyone have a wiring schematic for a 97, not a 95 like on shbox.com.

Did you bleed the water pump very well ? If the water pump has air in it, the water temp sensor wont get hot and turn the fans on. To bleed the water pump, you must jack the front of the car up... The higher the better. Then start the car and let it idle. Next, remove the bleed screws and dont replace them till there is a solid CONSTANT stream of antifreeze. I would be willing to bet this is your problem if you havent already done it.

Water pump was bled and everything. The fans were jumped so they would be on constantly ... But it still dies... No vacuum leaks either.
