Did he say it makes peak HP at 62-6300 or to spin it to 62-6300??
Heres a link that shows pics of both, you dont want to have to pull it out again and better 2 be safe than sorry if you can swing the extra 140.

I dunno a few hundo is a few hundo. Its just safe insurance that you have the best opti you can have. I didnt put it on mine or locktite it because it will void your warranty but now its out of the car again so Im just going to do the MSD cap and rotor.

Fuel filter and ICM replaced and not the culprits. ICM was factory with 90k miles on it

I had the EXACT same problem with my Trans Am...Car was running great...Got to the track and anything over 5400 rpms it would start popping and missing...I changed my coil and ICM and checked plugs and wires in desperation that it was not the opti....unfortunately it was the opt..it only had 150 miles on it too..pulled it off and the rotor screws had worked their way out..I sent it back for warranty just to be sure when I got it back I loctited the crap out of it and it has been running great ever since...

When I was shifting at ~5400 i pulled 107-108mph
when I fixed it and turned it to ~6200 it pulled 111-113mph

So thats where you mph is...

I put a stack of hundreds that it is the opti spark!!!

Good luck keep your head up!

Ive had this issue MANY TIMES!
Last one was the car would drive great at low rpms and when I hammered on it, anything over 4500rpm one plug wire would arch to the header(about 1.5") and misfire and sputter.
Ive had a Misfire issue with my car about 5 times in the last 1.5 years and its has never been the opti!

HATE to say it but your's is starting to sound like the opti tho... lol..
Did you ever get it in?

BTW, that is def where your MPH is at! I've gone:
10.49 @ 104
10.48 @ 98(O2 sensor went out causing misfire around 4500+rpms)
