possibly either ur pistons or CRs will give up before ur crank does. with 500+hp while reving that high, i doubt the stock bottom end will hold up for a long time

Stock short block can handle power, guys have ran deep 10s with set ups similar to yours, people have gone as fast as 9s with the stock Lt1 short block. What kills them is errors in the set up more so then the stock short block not being able to handle it.

It's hit or miss man...you could run it successfully for a long while or tear something up the first few times. If I were you I would go the 100 shot route to play it on the safer side...just my thoughts.

Isn't 400hp close to the limit for a stock bottom end?

I'd use 100 octane and I'd try to find a way to pull some timing for a 150 shot. If it's a wet shot, hopefully your fuel pump is up to the task. I recommend getting a Racetronix fuel pump kit.

you will be just fine, as long as have a retard box for the nitrous and dont let the engine run to lean or to rich on nitrous. Many people do it and will be fine on the stock bottom end as well...or even stock long blocks too

255 pump, 150 wet kit, 93 octane and a retard controller of some sort, you will be just fine

I run a similar setup as you do. cam and nitrous and i've not had a problem except a tranny issue. I use a few gallons of 104 octane and mix it with a few gallons of 91(all i have available) and i pull a few degrees out just for good measure!

My NA hp is real close to yours and my shift points are right there too. I am running about a 140 shot and so far so good. Times in sig, just make sure you have the proper equipment and a good tune for the nitrous.

Fixed, dry shots depend on injectors and the stock pump.

As for your bottom end holding up, like already said, its in the tune more than the overall power limit. A little bit of det is all it takes and they hyper pistons will blow the rignlands right off. But setup just right and you've got a killer shortblock.

actually, a dry shot depends on the MAF to adjust how much fuel you injectors put in. A wet shot depends strictly on the Fuel pump and fuel solenoid to alllow the fuel to mix in with the nitrous when spraying.

not saying the dry shot doesnt depend on the fuel pump just thats not the #1 thing. A dry kit depends on 10 parts for fuel as to a wet basically depends on 2 parts for fuel

LT1 doesn't compensate through the MAF like an LS car. it uses a nitrous pressure regulator which sprays into the fpr bumping the fuel pressure to around 83~ psi.

with either a wet or dry kit you will want to upgrade the pump as both are demanding on a fuel system.

with a dry kit you will want to upgrade the injectors though.

already have SVO 30# and a walbro 255. im not concerned with the tune at this point. im very confident in my tuner. i just need to know if my bottom end will handle the power reliably as this is my daily.

if it's a daily I wouldn't say its the best decision in the world, but as long as you have a good tuner, good gas, etc I wouldn't worry too much

Pull timing and read the plugs to get it tuned right on the gas. Dont just blindly spray it like a lot of people do, and you'll probably be fine.

tune up was most likely off then

If you have a good tune up you should be fine, just keep the timing out, watch the plugs closely, and don't do anything stupid.
