If you want a catback go with a magnaflow (sounds amazing) but I'd recommend a 2.5" x-pipe setup. I just got my 3" xpipe setup made with moroso spiral flows and I love the way it sounds. Everyone who's heard my car agrees. X-pipe ftw

I agree ^ Borla 110%

It isn't loud though, but it has a beautiful tone. If you just want to make a bunch of noise straight pipe the damn thing, but if you want a good sounding catback the Borla would be my choice.

Second would be GMMG.

The dynomax and Loud mouth sound like a bucket of loose *** holes.

The raspy nasty fluttering back cackles is sooooooo filthy, I hate it.

Borla has a nice tight, tuned sound and it ******* sounds like a hellbound panther at WOT, but has a nice pretty tone everywhere else.

Pure sex

I had loudmouth on my LT1 and loved it. Even when I went with longtubes, and ORY, and everyone said it was going to be terrible. I still liked it!

I was actually thinking about borla because of the adjustable plates but when its wide open it sounds a bit raspy to me my friend down the road has one and its loud wide open how does the GMMG compare to it as far as based on a stock manifolds and cat interms of loudness and quality? As for duals and x-pipe i got to pass emissions :/ so unfortunately those are out of the question. and Magnaflow sounds ok to me but its really quite i want to be able to hear it even if its just a catback you know?

Seeing as it was off a 2000 trans am what do i need to make it bolt up im going to be getting it welded on by my mechanic but will the hangers line up or will i have to buy the SLP 93-95 adapter kit thing?

I think the entire intermediate pipe is different. Rear hangers should be the same.

I'm pretty sure the conversion kit that GMMG provides for LT1's is nothing but different hangers. When I got my exhaust, they forgot to include them, and sent them separately. I know the exhaust mated up perfectly to my Kooks headers and Y-Pipe. I'm not sure what might be necessary if you're running the factory manifolds and Y-Pipe.

the gmmg works with 82-02 according to them. worst case, the hangars will need to be cut off and re welded

I would pick Magnaflow unless you got $750 to spend on GMMG

I got my Magnaflow Stainless Catback for $311 w/free shipping from a magnaflow distributor.

hitmanws6 - yeah I saw that on there site an in the video but I've done some research and it seems like it was made for the ls1's but GMMG will include the conversion hanger for LT1 cars which is the same as the SLP conversion kit. So I just went ahead and ordered the conversion kit along with the used one I found off craigslist.

Turnin20s - I looked at the stainless works catback and from what I've read on different forums it seems like it has fitment problems and plus it almost $1000 :o

Thanks for all your recommendations guys once I get the exhaust put on ill upload some pictures of it and maybe a video if I can find a camera and ill make a review of the system just in case anyone is curious about it.

I believe you're correct that the conversion kit is nothing more than the SLP hangers.

So you got a GMMG??

But I have been looking up the kit and heard really good things. Mufflex is the one I keep hearing to stay away from. There is a sponsor that has the stainless works for $900 or so.

But IMO true duals is the only way to go for the best sound. My setup will be for sale this winter so I can build the setup that will stay. Stainless 3" tradtional true duals with an x pipe with one tailpipe per side

Turnin20s - Yea I decided on GMMG I found one for sale on craigslists for a good deal and in good condition so itll be in the mail monday and hopefully at my door wednesday, but as for the stainless works the things I hear about it are that there is no drone due to the third muffler as opposed to GMMG but everyone says GMMG doesnt drone so i dont know, its hard to install and for what you pay for it you could buy GMMG but if you went that way you'd be unique because not many people have that system. I would do duels but I have to pass emissions and since longtubes aren't emission legal duels are eliminated from the list :/

BTC - Yeah that's what I've been reading about the hanger kit from GMMG so I just went ahead and ordered the SLP kit since the one I'm getting is off an LS1 i take it you have it on you car BTC?
