Hello guys, just bought a second car, just got a 94 Trans am. I was just wondering how much hp is gained at the wheels with an agressive cam on an LT1?

There are too many variables to really give you a definitive answer, but my dyno numbers and mods are in sig if you would like one example. Some have done much better, some have done worse it all just depends. My cam is pretty small in comparison to others on the market but I am very happy with the way it drives and performs.

If the car is completely stock there's other things that you could easily do to see gains before the cam. With only a CAT back, shortie headers, CAI, 1.6 roller rockers and a tune my 94 made 286rwhp/320 tq.

I'm building another motor now that should add nearly 100 hp to that with a larger cam, injectors, pistons and heads.

My basic advice is to read everything here that you can. Most mods have been performed many times and there's plenty of advice and reviews. A 94 TA is a great car though. Good luck!

I did all of the bolt ons, free mods and according the the manufactures of each part I should of gained 120 HP. I sent this in to Hot Rod Magazine and they put this in their jr calculator and told me that I gained 50 Hp at the upper rpm band. This was on a bone stock 95Z...I guess 50 hp for bolt on's still isn't bad..

According to my trap speed I have about 280-285whp.

I have added: intake/3.42s/tune/LTs and through a 3200 stall.

I dynod 231whp stock. Basically with only half the boltons that I know of I've already gained ≈50whp.

95-96mph ----> 102-103mph
