Did this a couple of months ago, a lot of work but can be done. I was fortunate to have another buddy around to help get it done. Check and double check all the parts you will need.

It isnt that bad at all, but if your a racecar and doing this with a power adder of any sort it is a complete waste of power. But if your a street car and want the benefits of overall better mpg and driveability, do so. Either way race car with a power adder=no,no

It's not a bad deal at all. The most PITA part is drilling the firewall for the clutch master. The wiring is easy, and it is super easy if you are using a M6 engine harness. I did it in my old 98 TA

I've went a4 to m6, and back to an a3.

for the intended purpose of my car, it was a complete waste of time.

if I knew then what I did now, I'd waited till the 4L60e bit the dust and just swapped to a th350 and a loose converter to begin with..

awesome for drivabilty and gas mileage, horrible for the track without shelling out the jack for a rearend.

Best mod I have done so far. Cutting the holes are easy too, the marks are already there in the insolation for the 3 master holes, just take your drill with a holesaw and cut it. Hole for the shifter is easy too. And you don't need a wiring harness. Reverse lockout is the only PITA and I haven't hooked that up yet, but after you get used to having to push it a little harder than normal you will be fine. I still don't have back up lights yet either, but thats really simple, I just haven't got around to it. You don't need to hook up the skip shift, who wants that anyway??

I can give you some pointers if you have a specific question, and I have some pics too. Just PM me and I'll do my best to help you out.

It is easy. Wiring is cake. Hardest part is the hole for the master and installing the pedals. Like was stated unless it is a track car then go for it. Just be ready to install a new rear sometime in your future.

I used to drive, now I sit and steer lol, love it too! After owning a m6 for 9yrs, i can say they are a blast. However the auto is more fun at the track and daily cruisin! M6 is more fun for street racin, but races are getting harder to come by around here...

What about a FMVB with lockup. I get to sit, steer, shift, choose fluid coupling or lockup. I forgot one thing, can you say Trans-brake?

Just throwing some curve ***** in there

Well I personaly wont be setting any records albeit the car will make big power though. My C5's are manual and I think I might swap the LT1 to a six speed so I can enjoy it more as a street car rather then the racecar path it seems to have gone down.

Those that have done it, what are some estimated costs?
