Default pickin up the new setup

Just had to post my excitement, i recently spun 4 rod bearings after a cam install. Somewhere along the lines it lost oil pressure once it got above 180 degrees. Well a friend of mine was selling his motor and cut my a good deal i couldnt pass up. Block has 65,000 miles and is heads/cam/ported intake. So needless to say im pumped. I just have to build my th350 and im ready to go.

Its fully ported heads (slightly better than LE3), ferra valves, ported intake to match. Bret Bauer custom cam 232/232 .608/.608 on a 108 LSA. Stock bottom end with about 65,000 miles. I already have full bolt-ons with 3.90 gears, soon to be a th350/4000 stall. Weight reduction

Blocks are identical. Only issue you'll have is that a '94-'95 block won't have a provision for the CPS. You can do one of two things. You could swap the '96 reluctor wheel, timing cover, and crank hub & balancer over to the new engine. Or you could just leave the CPS connector ziptied somewhere and tune out the code. I would swap over the '96 stuff. I like having misfire detection...

Another issue you could encounter is that the new engine has the oil pressure sensor on the side of the block rather than the back of the intake manifold. (If it's an early '94 block) In that case you can either extend the oil pressure sending unit wires to plug into the new location or you can relocate the sensor to the back of the intake and plug up the current location hole.

Its a 94' i just found out, and the oil pressure sensor is at the back of the intake like my 96. It has an MSD opti on it with the wiring coming off the opti but i cant put it into anything in my harness.

Yes you should be able to hook up that opti to your current harness. The LT1 opti metripack is the same for all years. You just have to disconnect it at the middle of the passenger side of the intake manifold:
