did you put on a ac delco opti?

If answer is no....return it and buy a ac delco or delphi
honestly i don't know what kind it was i bought it from advanced auto parts. It slid on and bolted down but i didn't look at the back of the opti. If it's not ac delco will it not work. This one was like 153. The cap and roter was 146 thats why i bought that one

It may or may not work, the parts store brands are hit and miss. I've never used one but my buddy did and it worked fine. More than likely it's installed wrong. Go back through this thread and check that it's on correctly. Then come back and let us know.

i went back and looked at the cam pin. It was in the wrong slot. It's been running strong since yesterday. The diagram ya posted helped alot. Thanks

My 93 Optispark is vented. Is this normal for optisparks for this year to be vented? It has the outlet for a hose.

Maybe it only has a vented cap, because the metal body would not have a vent in it. Or a previous owner has done a conversion.
